Supporting / activating communities and networks
Peter is a highly experienced economic, regional and community development practitioner, specialising in activating and supporting networks / strategic alliances and collaborative approaches to improving economic and social outcomes, particularly in regional areas.
Peter recently prepared the Cradle Coast Regional Futures Plan and more recently, along with Owen Tilbury, created a community development process, offered free online to community project teams at www.clipguide.net, and facilitated the development of a community online platform at www.launcestontogether.com.au, which will go live shortly.
Peter and Owen's interest in community led and collaborative forms of development has led to the creation of a campaign called the Great Regional City Challenge, where the community, business and governments will come together to make the Greater Launceston one of the great regional cities of the world.
Now semi-retired, Peter has held senior roles within the sports industry and local, regional and state governments. His strengths lie in connecting and engaging key people and assets within communities and networks to work together on important things that they could not achieve by themselves.
